Two edtech platforms, Ekolance and TechonomyAfrica, have formed a partnership to support the Blockchain and Web3 ecosystems in developing nations.
By putting as many talents as feasible in remote work with web3 enterprises from the developed world, the collaboration also seeks to improve the quality of life.
The two claim that the blockchain and technology ecosystems are still predominately male-dominated, which restricts the participation of women, particularly in developing nations.
This approach, it was said, will also help close the labor shortfall.
In this respect, the co-founder of EkoLance, Modupe Ativie, stated that while statistics indicate that more women are participating in training and recruitment activities, which are typically aimed at bringing in more women to the tech sector, there are still indications that discrimination based on gender is having an impact on the general climate of opinion in the sector.
She added that the emphasis is on creating and fostering communities of qualified web3 professionals for every job function and that they will do this by giving them access to hands-on training from international blockchain specialists as well as direct employment opportunities.
Their objective is to steadily bridge the supply-demand gap for blockchain experts by utilizing expertise from growing communities.
By offering free training for particular profession streams, particularly those that are in high demand, like solidity development, community management, and content production, TechnomyAfrica, in partnership with Ekolance, is addressing these issues.
Less than a thousand black women worldwide worked as blockchain developers in 2019, according to the partners.
The two have agreed to collaborate to develop specialized programming for participants in the blockchain technology industry in a few selected nations this year.
The two said that this project will encourage the African diaspora to develop international blockchain possibilities and solutions.
