Applications are now open for the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) Prize for Innovation 2026, a national innovation programme designed to support early-stage founders building solutions with strong social and economic impact across key sectors in Nigeria.

The initiative brings together funding, structured acceleration, mentorship, and investor exposure to help selected startups refine their solutions and position them for scale.

The programme is delivered through a multi-stage selection process that ends with a final demo session where top founders present to judges, investors, and ecosystem partners.

Benefits of Participation

  • Funding and Prize Support: Selected startups will share from a combined prize pool valued at about $275,000.
  • Equity Investment Opportunities: Beyond cash prizes, standout ventures may gain access to equity-based funding ranging from $500,000 to $1.5 million through partner investment channels designed to support scaling businesses.
  • Training and Accelerator Programme: Finalists participate in a structured accelerator programme that combines mentorship, technical guidance, and business development support.
  • Exposure to Investors and Industry Leaders: The programme creates a platform for startups to pitch directly to investors, policy stakeholders, and sector experts during the final demo stage, increasing visibility and partnership opportunities.
  • Sector and Ecosystem Support: Participants benefit from partnerships across healthcare, manufacturing, climate, and food systems, gaining access to networks that support product testing, validation, and growth discussions.

Eligibility for Participation

  • Applicants must include at least one Nigerian citizen among the founding team.
  • The programme targets early-stage startups that already have a minimum viable product and have been operational for at least six months.
  • Businesses must be operating within Nigeria and, for finalists, must be registered in the country.
  • Applications are open to startups working in healthcare, manufacturing, climate solutions, and food security.
  • Applicants must be ready to take part in a structured accelerator programme and actively engage across all selection stages, including pitch sessions and training activities.
How to Apply

The NSIA Prize submission deadline is Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Applicants are expected to complete their submissions on the NSIA Page.
