The US Mission to Cameroon Youth Entrepreneurship Symposium 2021 has recently opened its application.

With the aim of building the next generation of entrepreneurs, the U.S. Embassy in Cameroon is carrying out the program to strengthen Cameroonian youth’s ability in developing their capacity for business.

The program will take place in three different regions of Cameroon’s capital city, splitting into three regional workshops.

The proposals to be presented by the participating youths must demonstrate a sound knowledge of the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem while providing training modules aimed at transiting entrepreneurs at the seed stage to the next level of expansion.

The program will enable the youth participants to acquire significant knowledge in capitalization, sales, employment, marketing plan and capital access for their startups.

Program Details

The participants would create and execute every section of the symposiums.

The proposals must include detailed information on the length, content, participant recruitment and suggested speakers.

Applicants are encouraged to execute the workshops in person such that it would comply with COVID-19 guidelines while still ensuring that it is interactive with case-studies and fact-finding exercises.

Proposals must contain needs analysis activities, follow-up activities, monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the project’s impact.

The proposal must also contain any American-origin entrepreneurship and business models/ideas or American resource materials.

Benefits of participation

Participants in the Cameroon Youth Entrepreneurship symposium stand to be rewarded between $15,000 to $20,000.

Eligibility

Interested youth applicants must:

  • Be a member of a public and state-owned institution of higher learning
  • Members of private institutions of higher education can also apply
  • Participants must be within the ages of 20-35 and must possess a well-defined startup idea in the seed or early stage.
How to Apply

If you are a Cameroonian youth and have satisfied the aforementioned criteria, you can go ahead to apply here.

The deadline for application is Wednesday, January 13, 2021
