African entrepreneurs building solutions in the renewable energy sector now have an opportunity to join the RAISEAfrica 2026 accelerator programme, an initiative designed to help early-stage founders turn energy innovations into scalable ventures.
The programme is led by the RES4Africa Foundation with support from partners such as Enel Green Power and the European Investment Bank, alongside collaborators including EY Foundation, EDP, CSIR, and SAICA ED.
RAISEAfrica focuses on founders developing solutions that address Africa’s energy access and sustainability challenges.
Selected startups will participate in a structured programme designed to strengthen their business models and connect them with stakeholders across the energy ecosystem.
Benefits for Participants
Entrepreneurs selected for the accelerator will receive several forms of support aimed at helping them grow their renewable energy solutions.
- Mentorship and coaching from industry experts in renewable energy and entrepreneurship.
- Access to networking opportunities with investors, corporates, and energy stakeholders.
- Exposure through international events and sector engagements.
- Fundraising support and business development guidance to strengthen the startup’s market readiness.
- An entry contribution of €3,000 for each selected startup or entrepreneur.
- Opportunity to compete for the Young Talent of the Year Award, with prizes ranging from €5,000 to €10,000.
Only six startups or entrepreneurs will be selected for the programme.
Eligibility for Participation
Applicants interested in the RAISEAfrica 2026 programme must meet the following requirements:
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Be an African citizen or represent startups registered in Africa.
- Build solutions targeting the renewable energy market in Africa.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English.
Applications are assessed based on factors such as the impact of the proposed solution, innovation, scalability, the strength of the business model, and the founder’s commitment. The programme also encourages gender balance and participation from women founders.
