Applications are now open for the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition 2026, a pan-African initiative supporting young entrepreneurs building businesses across the agrifood value chain.
The competition recognises youth-led agribusiness ventures creating scalable solutions in food production, agritech, logistics, climate resilience, food security, and related sectors across Africa.
The programme offers funding opportunities, mentorship, business exposure, and access to investors and industry leaders through a multi-stage competition culminating at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Kigali, Rwanda.
Benefits of Participation
Cash Prize Opportunities
The competition will award $50,000 each to one male-led and one female-led agribusiness venture. In addition, impact awards totalling of $60,000 will be distributed to startups making notable contributions in areas such as Technology and Innovation, Nutrition and Food Security, Climate Resilience, Job Creation, and Gender Equity.
Mentorship and Business Support
Selected participants gain access to mentorship from agribusiness experts, investors, and development partners across Africa. Founders will also receive strategic business support and pitch preparation sessions.
Global and Continental Exposure
Finalists will pitch their businesses before judges and stakeholders during the Africa Food Systems Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, giving startups visibility among investors, policymakers, and ecosystem leaders.
Access to Industry Networks
Participants will connect with agrifood stakeholders, development organisations, investors, and fellow entrepreneurs across the continent through the competition process and forum activities.
Open to Multiple Agrifood Sectors
The competition welcomes ventures operating in areas including farming, agro-processing, logistics, digital agriculture, renewable energy for agriculture, waste recycling, packaging, food retail, and agritech solutions.
Eligibility for Participation
Age Requirement
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of submission.
Nationality Requirement
Applicants must be citizens of an African Union member state and possess a valid means of identification
Business Location
The venture must be headquartered in an African Union member state.
Business Registration
Applicants must own or co-own a legally registered agribusiness in Africa. Businesses still undergoing registration may apply if registration is completed before June 28, 2026.
Founder Involvement
Applicants must be founders or co-founders actively involved in the company’s operations and leadership.
Compliance Requirement
Applicants must not have criminal records linked to corruption, financial misconduct, or related offences.
