Nigeria’s Healthbotics wins $12,000 from African App Launchpad

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), an organization based in Egypt has recently announced the winners of its African App Launchpad competition.

The competition in its second edition has awarded a total of $72,000 to winning startups on the African continent.

In its first edition, ITIDA launched the African App Launchpad competition in 2020 and saw the emergence of six startups that bagged $60,000 in cash prizes.

In December 2020, the competition was extended beyond the North African region, giving out $72,000 in prize money.

The competition opened two categories for application – App and game development.

Nigeria’s Healthbotics won the app development category while FitBot, Egypt’s based startup, won the gaming development category.

Both winning startups secured $12,000 each while they would get a sponsored go-to-market program for both.

The first and second runner up won $8,000 and US$4,000, while the rest of the emerged finalists got $1,000 each.

What ITIDA is about

The Egypt-based company is aware of the impact of innovation and skills, therefore the organization supports the provision of talent and also innovative solutions.

The organization works with the private sector, government agencies and key stakeholders while building an entrepreneurial mindset.

ITIDA provides a range of services that supports local IT organizations in attracting international IT companies.

The company also helps in expanding IT ventures by offering special access to the market by sponsoring their participation in both local and international trade shows.

ITIDA plans to foster a world-class IT infrastructure that can contribute to both Egypt and Africa’s economic growth.

About African App Launchpad

The African App Launchpad (AAL) program aims to develop the continent’s capacity of youth development in both Egypt and other African countries in creating a sustainable startup atmosphere while advancing development in games and apps.

AAL plans to create a capacity of 10,000 young African talents and develop 100 African startups in app and gaming development.
