Google is expanding Search Live to every language and location where AI Mode is available, bringing the feature to users in more than 200 countries and territories. The rollout lets people hold interactive conversations with Search using both voice and camera.
The expansion is powered by Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, Google’s new audio and voice model built for more natural, responsive exchanges. Because the model is multilingual by design, users can speak with Search in the language they are most comfortable using.
Search Live is meant for situations where typing feels too slow or inconvenient. Users can open the Google app on Android or iOS, tap the Live icon beneath the search bar, and start speaking to Search to receive spoken responses. They can then continue the exchange with follow-up questions or open related web links for more detail.
Google is also leaning into visual search. When users need help with something in front of them, such as setting up a shelving unit, they can turn on the camera to give Search live visual context. Search can then assess what is in view and return guidance along with links to relevant information online.
The same experience is available through Google Lens as well. Users who are already using their camera in Lens can tap the Live option at the bottom of the screen and keep a real-time conversation going about what they are seeing.
Google says the goal is to make Search more useful in everyday moments, and this global rollout puts voice, camera input, and multilingual support at the center of that effort.
