Each time I come across a young African entrepreneur, the first thing that usually comes to my mind irrespective of how successful he or she appears is; “how on earth is he coping?” The fact is that the challenges are enormous, so are the opportunities which is why the issue of support/encouragement is so important.

On the ICT Radio Show (which airs every Tuesday by 1.30pm) this week, we would be looking at the topic: Are we doing enough to encourage young tech entrepreneurs in Africa – where are the gaps?

One thing is clear to me, African entrepreneurs need to be encouraged not just in terms of finance but also capacity building and a lot of other things needed to make them formidable entrepreneurs. One of the questions, I am sure to ask my guest tomorrow is in what areas should we be encouraging young tech entrepreneurs?
