How “Locomotive” Is Moving From Lagos Nightlife Into Web3 With a Nigerian Youth-Focused Agenda

In 2023, Mrs Awojobi, a 65-year-old widow, retired from active Federal Service as a support staff member with enthusiasm; her pension serves as her backup plan for living the good life, per her foresight.

Although she could barely read or write, she plays catch-up by seeking help from any available young man or woman when completing her transactions.

She soon realised those trusted with helping with her transactions made away with a large portion of her saved retirement benefit, sad, but this is the heart-wrecking tale that will/has become popular among Nigerian senior citizens who are pension earners.

All that changes with Xeder AI, a WhatsApp-enabled payment solution pushing an innovative narrative set to bring ease of performing transactions to everyone.

The Fintech solution is designed with an intelligence that incorporates our cultural nuances (local language) into everyday banking.

Senior citizens in our society will no longer be victims of fraud due to the language barriers present in most banking applications.

By incorporating our local language into the digital banking experience, we can help seniors navigate these platforms more effectively, whether through text or voice chat.

The Xeder AI WhatsApp payment solution is shattering barriers experienced by unbanked Nigerians to provide a seamless banking experience.

Although English is an official language, many unbanked individuals prefer to speak their local languages. With approximately 500 indigenous languages in Nigeria, Xeder-AI focuses on the official and widely spoken indigenous languages: English, Pidgin English, Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo as enablers in completing transactions.

This approach embraces financial innovation and convenience, driven by technology.

Currently, the percentage of financially excluded Nigerians stands at 26%, with some citing the documentation requirement as a turn-off. With Xeder-AI, users are not required to even download an app; it leverages WhatsApp messaging infrastructure to complete transactions in a conversation style.

Speaking on Xeder’s launch, Mr Adeleke Kehinde, the Founder of Xeder–AI, has this to say: “Our mission has always been to simplify how people connect and conduct business.

By enabling seamless transactions directly on WhatsApp powered by Artificial Intelligence, we’re breaking barriers and making everyday transactions and commerce more accessible, instant, and secure for everyone. Xeder-AI transforms everyday conversations into powerful financial access.”

Additionally, Xeder-AI is moving mountains to ensure each country within the African continent experiences its AI-powered payment solution that makes everyday transactions easy, feels like chat. The market penetration across different countries will be communicated in the near future.

Xeder-AI launch is the start of an era within the largest startup ecosystem in Nigeria to further close the unbanked gap through access to an AI-enabled WhatsApp payment solution that is inclusive, with a strong cultural nuance set to revolutionise the future of digital banking.

Most tech thought leaders have described Xeder-AI as a local solution with the potential for global adoption.
