The power of vision and the commitment to follow through with achieving such a vision absolutely does make a difference and one man did prove this to the world. He lived an extra-ordinary life that brought such tremendous disruption that directly or indirectly led to the dislocation of two giant phone companies, namely Blackberry and Nokia. It also contributed to making the windows operating system irrelevant.

The great man was Steve Jobs. The great and extraordinary achievements by Steve Jobs when he was alive were humongous. This is more so evident that, even after almost six years of his demise, his name still resonates the world over, especially in the world of technology.

It is interesting to note that Steve Jobs still features prominently in online discussions, and as Google trends shows, he is more famous than Bill Gates, the Founder of Microsoft, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple Incorporated, makers of iPhone, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, and Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk.

Studying and following in the footsteps of the ingenuity of people such as Steve Jobs in our quest for improvement and progress within the technology ecosystem will, most certainly lead to more ingenuity as well as become a source of inspiration to potential innovators in Nigeria.

How well do you know Steve Jobs? You may have memorized one of his numerous quotes or perhaps hear people talk about him. An icon like Steve Jobs is not one whom you can just quote one of his witty sayings without having an interest in knowing him. You need to know more about Jobs as he was one of the most influential persons that traversed this world, especially the ever evolving world of technology.

The genius called Steve Jobs died on October 5, 2011 at the age of 56 after unsuccessfully battling with pancreatic cancer. He was the Co-Founder and CEO of Apple Incorporated, the makers of the popular iPhone, which is a brand that commands a large patronage and following across the world.

After Jobs resigned from his role as CEO of the company, he handed the mantle of leadership over to Tim Cook, the present Chief Executive Officer of Apple Incorporated. Cook was a very close companion of Jobs before his demise as they had been friends for quite a long time. To tell you how close they were, Cook offered a portion of his liver to Jobs before he finally succumbed to the cold hands of death.
