“I’m going to run a class and teach everyone here how to use Keynote the way I do, so that you can do this. Because it matters, every detail matters.
How well do you know Steve Jobs? You may have memorized one of his quotes or perhaps hear people talk about him. An icon like Steve Jobs is not someone who you can just quote of his witty sayings without having interest in knowing him. You need to know more about Steve in as much as you talk about world’s most influential persons, specifically within the technology space. (May his soul rest in peace)
According to Google Trends Steve Jobs still dominates online discussion, more famous than Tim Cook the CEO of Apple Incorporated, maker of iPhone, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, the largest social media platform, Bill Gates, the Founder of Microsoft, the technology multinational company and the likes of Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk.
The great things and legacies associated with Steve Jobs are enormous and so solid that even in 5 years his names still rings the bell in the globe. He is no more, but not forgotten.
Who is Steve Jobs?
This great man called Steve died five years ago after suffering from pancreatic cancer at 56. He was the co-founder and CEO of Apple Incorporated, the maker of the popular iPhone which driving lots of people crazy. I think that’s one of his legacies and would always be remembered.
Few months after Steve resigned from his role at the company as the CEO, he handed the mantle of leadership to Tim Cook (I so much like his name) the present Chief Executive Officer of Apple Incorporated. Tim was very close to Steve before his demise. He was not joust close, they have been friends for long, surprisingly, Tim offered a portion of his liver to Steve before he finally died. It’s quite Appalling that he died at very early stage, he is not as old as Bill Gate.

No doubt about the competencies of Tim Cook, ever since he assumed the role of a CEO the growth of Apple has been significant. In my views, it’s just difficult for him not to follow the footsteps of his former boss.
However, Apple’s value has grown from $50bn to more than $600bn, if down a little from its peak of $775bn in February 2015.
What are his Legacies?
Undoubtedly, when you talk about the evolution of the technology industry today, you cannot fail to mention Steve Jobs. I see him as Mark Zuckerberg and Uber CEO of those days he was alive.
Innovative/World Changer

His was the father of innovation. He did things differently and was confident enough to invent, innovate and change the world. Current USA President describes Steve as one of the greatest of American innovators that are brave enough to think differently.
Our perception today about the world was entirely altered by Steve. He showcases this by building one of the most successful companies in the world today, “he exemplified the spirit of American ingenuity,” Barack Obama notes in his tribute to the late charismatic leader.

And by turning his talents to storytelling, he has brought joy to millions of children and grownups alike.
Steve was fond of saying that he lived every day like it was his last. Because he did, he transformed our lives, redefined entire industries, and achieved one of the rarest feats in human history: he changed the way each of us sees the world.”
Paying Attention to Details
All CEOs will agree with me about paying attention to detail. Heads and managers value employees who pay attention to details. As if they learned that from Steve, he didn’t joke with details.
Here is one of the statements he does make when he gets frustrated with his employees
“I’m going to run a class and teach everyone here how to use Keynote the way I do, so that you can do this. Because it matters, every detail matters.”
When I was working at, a digital marketing consultancy firm, my boss (Tobi Asehinde) will always say “You guys are not paying attention to details. I wake up as early as 4am to make sure the company keeps running”.
Interestingly, paying attention to details is one of my greatest strengths.
He Thinks Differently
Was he thinking differently? Of course, he did. I don’t want to bore you with lots of his inventions. Before any invention takes place, he must have thought differently.
No doubt, Steve made Information Technology not only widely accessible, but intuitive and more fun. By making our computers and internet personalized, he does think differently.
“He thinks differently,” says Manatt Digital Media CEO Peter Csathy of Musk. “The kinds of things he’s involved in. He’s disrupting the industry, but that’s not enough. That’s just his morning job.
Conclusion
Here should be you take away from this piece:
- Start thinking differently
- Pay attention to details
- Be innovative
- Start solving problems.
- Have a good succession planning, just as Steve handed over to Tim Cook.
