It is quite evident that startups in Nigeria need some form of assistance, either in the way of finance or mentorship. When startups get the required boost, there is no doubt that the resultant effects are quite significant.

It is in line with this objective that startups, not more than 30 registered businesses will be part of CFA’s Startup Hangout. The event which is set to hold on the 20th of January 2017, at Adna Hotel, GRA, Ikeja.

CFA Startups Hangout is a monthly meetup where entrepreneurs meet, network, learn and grow and the theme for the January’s edition remains: Charting a Course for your Startup in 2017.

Why Startups Should Attend ?

Successful entrepreneurs have always made it known that networking remains a critical aspect of business, hence, it remains a king.

Interestingly, startups and business entrepreneurs are always looking forward connect with other startups and entrepreneurs, who knows new alliances might be formed. Lots of businesses have been able to break through through formidable networking.

All entrepreneur has to network with others if they’re going to succeed, particularly face-to-face networking, which 85% of businesspeople prefer. When you establish your company, you have nothing and nobody.

In most cases, business is not about what you know it’s who you know. Any startup founder worth their salt has to make connections if they want to avoid wasting money on marketing.

With Mazi Sam Onuabunwa OFR, championing the course, much knowledge based transfer is guaranteed.

In a startup, a mentor adds perspective, experience and is always on a lookout for opportunities and trends to analyze an idea and provide direction from an outsider’s perspective.

As mentors bring an area of specialization with them, they can advise start-ups as to what they should focus on, or how they should tackle various problems.

When you learn from successful entrepreneurs who have been there, and you have the chance of averting some mistakes and go steps ahead.
