Facebook and CcHUB, recently unveiled 12 start-ups, accepted for its 2019 cohort, of the Facebook Accelerator, Nigeria program.
The Facebook accelerator is, West-Africa’s first accelerator, focused on supporting innovators, building solutions, with advanced technologies, (AI, IoT, Data Science, VR & AR)
Previously, 15 start-ups that have built solutions, to create unique value, for multiple sectors, passed through the 2018 cohort session, of the program.
The 2019 cohort, includes 12 start-ups and student teams, from Nigeria and Ghana, who have leveraged advanced technologies, to build solutions, for several sectors in the financial services, insurance, telecommunications, health, oil & gas, logistics & supply chain, transportation and more.
Below are the 12 start-ups:
Vmedkit
A social enterprise, with the mission, to increase access, to mental healthcare, by leveraging Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy, (VRET).
VNTS
A consumer device manufacturing and software/platforms company, actively, innovating hardware solutions, tailored to solve internet connectivity issues.
Simbi Interactives
This is an ed-tech start-up that is, solving the problem of poor education in Africa, by making quality education available, affordable and accessible, to all African students, using maieutic learning.
Chekkit
This eases asset tracking and consumer intelligence for food, beverages and pharmaceutical products, producers and distributors, through anti-counterfeiting services, by labelling products for smart and traceable authentications, from the warehouse, to the final consumer.
Curacel
An intelligent platform that, fast tracks claim to process and detect fraudulent claims, for health insurance companies.
Appruve
A Ghanaian financial data API, used by financial services, to onboard and verify the identities, of their customers, in order to analyse transactions, data from bank and mobile money account.
Mus-comm Spill-Sat
Spill-Sat is an oil spill, gas leak and vandalization detection system. It uses a balloon satellite, to collect aerial data that are processed and used, to provide real-time analytics, to oil companies.
Gradely
Uses analytics and data-driven recommendations, to help schools and parents intervene, in real-time, to children’s learning gaps, through weekly adaptive homework tests.
GESAL
GESAL uses visual learning to offer quality education, at a low cost, to secondary school students, leveraging AR, to visualise complicated diagrams, in 3D and deploy virtual laboratory tools.
InventOne
It is a platform that, allows hardware engineers, enthusiasts and hobbyists, to build and deploy IoT solutions, with little to no code written, via a graphical programming interface.
Vinsighte
A computer vision and sonar technology to aid the, visually impaired, in navigating their environment, independently and read books, conveniently.
Haulr
An IoT and AI-powered platform that tracks trucking operations, in real-time, to curb illegal hauling and the theft, of cargo, while boosting efficiency and communication.
