Leading car classified Carmudi rolls out its global app for Android devices during its dealers forum in Lagos Nigeria
Hits milestone of 30,000 unique listings.

Lagos Nigeria, July 17th, 2014– Carmudi Nigeria, Nigeria’s fastest growing online car classified has today changed the experience of shopping for car enthusiasts in Nigeria and globally. The online car classified has launched a mobile application which will allow users to browse thousands of cars on the go. The app is introduced during a dealer ́s forum that carmudi held today in Lagos, Nigeria.

Hosting over 30,000 vehicles online in Nigeria and 200,000 globally, Carmudi’s app will give users an excellent experience of buying cars while on the move, thus allowing them the same sense of ease and comfort out and about as they would experience in front of their PCs at home.

Apart from Nigeria, the app is available to Android users in 20 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and LATAM. For the convenience of customers, Carmudi has made the app available in 9 different languages.

The app features the same usability and filter functions as its computer counterpart www.carmudi.com. Customers can filter searches by any means that they wish, from brand to model and year to price. Users can also share listings on various social platforms to gain opinions from friends and family if they are unsure. In addition, the Carmudi app allows for favouriting of listings so that they get instant notifications on their favourite cars.

Karl-Johan Sturesson, Co-Founder and Head of Business Development of Carmudi Africa, commented, “We want to bring the massive choice of cars to the fingertips of our users all over Africa. This is a huge milestone for Carmudi Africa and is a natural step in our ongoing strategy of being in the frontline when it comes to business development. The app will allow millions of users across Africa to find their dream car in just a single tap. We already have over one million users visiting our website globally every month. Carmudi is changing the way consumers search and shop for cars. With mobile phones accounting for more than a third of the internet usage in the emerging world, Carmudi’s app will further strengthen its dominance there.”

Emerging economies are a hotbed for smartphone usage with the expectation of a 33% increase in the number of smartphones that are shipped to such nations as compared to 7% in the developed world. Furthermore, Android is the most popular mobile operating system worldwide with over 52% market share.

So if you are looking for that perfect ride, make sure that you download the Carmudi app on the Google play store. The app will allow users to search for the vehicles they want by brand, model and price. If this is not enough, further filters such as age, mileage and even colour are available to make sure that customers are able to find exactly what they want. More features will be added to the app shortly.

At the same time, Carmudi continues its rapid growth and today announces that unique listings have crossed the 30,000 mark in Nigeria. This new milestone reflects a pattern of exponential growth for Carmudi Nigeria. The website launched in October 2013 and reached 10,000 listings in March, meaning that the number of listings has tripled in around 4 months.

Christian Keller, Managing Director at Carmudi Nigeria, commented: “The trust we have gained from car sellers is overwhelming. With over 30,000 unique listings on Carmudi, all quality-approved, everybody in Nigeria should now be able to find the car they really want. Carmudi is fast becoming the first choice for vehicle buyers and sellers in Nigeria, and we are well on the way to achieving our goal of becoming the country’s largest online vehicle marketplace.”

The business platform operates under a high level of transparency through professional photos, updated listings, detailed descriptions, reports and rankings for 100% of its vehicles in each market. At the same time, vehicle dealers get a trusted online presence through a personalized webpage. The Carmudi platform helps sellers manage their inventory in a fast, easy and stress-free way.
