Productivity is one topic I am interested in, and quite often, I pause to ask myself how productive I am as an individual and most importantly how productively am I using and adding value technology?
This subject matter is indeed an important one for me such that last week on my ICT Radio Show I invited a guest to discuss the topic “Enhancing your Productivity using Technology.” Well you won’t exactly blame me because in the last few weeks it has been all about productivity.
Our dear country marked her 14th National Productivity Day on August 21, 2014. It featured the usual pronouncements, conferment of awards and delivery of papers. These are all good steps in the right direction. It is most commendable that as a nation, we are committed to improving our productivity and magnanimous enough to honour citizens who have contributed outstandingly to the progress of this country in their respective walks of life. The marking of the day should, however, go beyond these, because, all data available points to the fact that Nigeria is lagging far behind in global standards, even within the African sub-region.
