Ethiopian, Senegalese, Tanzanian, and Tunisian female-led idea stage firms are invited to submit their applications for the ECA’s first Tech African Women initiative, an initiative in partnership with Betacube.
The TAW (Tech African Women) program was established with the goal of enabling female founders to use their skills to build strong tech startups from the ground up, to hasten the conversion of project ideas into tested business models, and to forge alliances between various African ecosystems.
In collaboration with local ecosystem stakeholders, intensive 3-day training boot camps and pitching competitions will be hosted in Tunisia, Senegal, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. Each bootcamp’s winner team will get a cash award of $2,000.00.
The top 2 entrepreneurs from each nation will participate in a 2-month online incubator program that will help them become investment- and market-ready.
There will be a closing ceremony in Ethiopia at the ECA Conference Center where eight startups will be asked to present to win the program’s grand prize (a cash reward of $7000 for the best startup).
TAW provides teams with an exceptional opportunity to develop new entrepreneurial skills, form partnerships with their African peers, boost regional business exposure, and gain access to funding. It specifically targets female-led and idea-stage digital firms.
It promotes theories that address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by strengthening the abilities of female entrepreneurs who want to deeply explore creating businesses that are driven by purpose and who want to comprehend how to contribute to the development of the continent.
Teams will have access to many tech developers and designers for the period of the incubation program who will create their MVPs at no cost and closely collaborate with leading specialists in marketing and finance in addition to participation in customized webinars offered by international trainers.
