Over the past months, the Anambra ICT Agency has demonstrated its readiness to launch the state to global relevance with its innovative initiatives and collaboration.
The Agency earlier this month premiered on the World’s free encyclopedia, Wikipedia. A testament to the proof of Anambra’s readiness for global opportunities, and partnerships to drive the ‘Everything Technology and Technology Everywhere’ vision of Mr Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
Wikipedia, a free online encyclopedia, which contains credible information on all branches of knowledge, has since its creation on January 15, 2001, grown into the world’s largest reference website, attracting over a billion visitors monthly.
Wikipedia currently has more than sixty-one million articles in more than 300 languages, including 6,694,024 articles in English with 115,680 active contributors in the past month.
A major benefit of the launch of the Anambra ICT Agency on such widely-acclaimed platform, enabled by the guidance of the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, through the Wikimedia Anambra Network, is that it supports Mr Governor’s efforts to open Anambra to the world for the positive reasons!
By launching on Wikipedia, the ICT Agency is marketing Anambra State on a global scale and opening opportunities for collaboration and partnerships beyond the shores of Nigeria. These can in turn yield in limitless gains for Anambra people.
Suffice it to say that no one unveils a bad product for public scrutiny and the Anambra State ICT Agency under the leadership of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, CFA, believes that Anambra’s digitization journey under the watch of Mr Governor, has come of age and at this point, needs all the collaboration and partnership it requires, especially from forward-looking nations, whose exploits in the ‘tech’ world are unparalleled.
The step speaks to the credibility and integrity of the Agency and offers visibility and recognition beyond the shores of Nigeria.
It also further asserts Anambra as a state that is ‘tech-compliant’, especially when the State ICT policy developed by the Agency is given Executive backing.
For the Agency’s MD/CEO, CFA, Anambra under Governor Soludo is on the rise and the Anambra ICT Agency represents a significant spoke in the achievement of the Governor’s laudable vision to transform Anambra into a smart mega city, that is liveable and prosperous.
In his words; “This is a challenge Mr Governor has put out to us and which we have accepted and cannot fail, to drive the digitization of all aspects of the state governance and open the state to the world, leveraging technology.”
