On the 23rd and 24th of October 2019, Innovation Support Network; the largest network of hubs in Nigeria held its first Annual Gathering at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria with support from The Ford Foundation,

The event was attended by stakeholders across the public and private sector. There were panel discussions, masterclasses on relevant ecosystem issues, co-creation sessions, networking and the network’s first Annual General Meeting.

In attendance were Innocent Chukwuma, Regional Director, West Africa for Ford Foundation and Toyin Adegbite-Moore of the African Venture Philanthropy Alliance (AVPA) who were also the two main keynote speakers and sponsors of the event.

Other special guests included; Chris Uwaje, Founder and Chair, Mobile Software solutions and Tubosun Alake, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Innovation and Technology.

With over 250 participants as planned which included the 75 founding members of the ISN Network, Start-ups and policy makers, the Annual Gathering was indeed an interesting time of knowledge sharing and partnership development.

‘The journey to sustainable innovation Hubs that will help our entrepreneurs build startups that create decent jobs for Nigerians has started in earnest.

This first gathering of the Innovation Support Network Hubs in Lagos marks the beginning of that journey to global competitiveness. I am proud of the 75 founding Hubs who made this happen and look forward to welcoming our new members.

The second day of the event saw members of Innovation Support Network Hubs hold its first annual general meeting which saw a number of far reaching decisions that will guide the future of the organisation.

The date of the 2nd ISN Annual Gathering alongside the regional events that will be announced shortly.
