After all the lengthy presentations from the 5 startups that pitched, BeatDrone of Passion Incubator finally won the “Battle of the Hubs” contest.
A critical and holistic observations show that the judges who gave the verdict are wealthy in experience. They threw significant questions back and forth but the presenters never left any stone unturned. They were good in all ramifications, but there has to be winner at the end.
Initially, 10 startups qualified for the contest; 5 were selected at the first day of the 2018 TechFest. Beating all these startups was a herculean task for Beat Drone. Yes, it was. Considering the level of competitiveness exhibited at the contest.
Almost all the startups showcased their various solutions coated with high level of understanding during presentation. They underscored the various roadmaps to implementing their business models. They had clear cut value propositions as well as existing users for their solutions.
This, in the real sense made it difficult for judges to practical announce the winner. At the end, the judges had to do the needful. They are not yet to start, they have all started. They just needed to scale.
Beat Drone were rewarded with a cash prize worth N5 million by Diamond Bank and its partners. Aside from the cash reward, the startup will also get support in the area of mentorship.
