Contrary to what most software publishers want you to believe, latest is not always the best. Microsoft is making every effort to make their users move to Windows 10. They are even offering free upgrades for licensed users of Windows 7 and 8, but is Windows 10 worth upgrading or is it just a hype? Here are the top reasons why you should probably consider sticking to your Windows 7 or 8/8.1:

1.    Privacy Concerns

Many of Windows 10 features require you to give permission to access your private data and share it online with Microsoft Servers, e.g. Cortana. Microsoft is, thus, starting to follow in the footsteps of Google that specialize in collecting personal data of users for the sake of relevant ads, (or something we do not know about yet).

2.    No Media Center and DVD Player

There are many Windows Media Center fans out there and they are out of luck this time with Windows 10. Although there are a ton of other available free options on Windows 10, Windows Media Center has its own merits and some users just like to stick with it on their Windows 7 or 8/8.1.

3.    Apps Store not really there

The marketing fluff about the all new App Store will not tell you how limited the apps on Windows 10 really are. Other than a few famous apps, you will not find many quality apps there. Key built-in apps like Mail and Edge are also not as polished as they should be.

4.    Unclear data sharing policies

Many experts have reported that, even if you turn all security settings off, Windows 10 still sends data to MS servers. Windows updates have also been forced on users which sometimes fail and create a mess for the user.

5.    Not everyone wants Cortana

Is trading your privacy for using some of the Windows features, like Cortana worth it? It reads your emails, calendars and so on, to come up with better suggestions. That is the same thing Google has been doing, but do we really need to put another spy inside our Desktops and Laptops?
