Two Nigerian startups are among the eleven fintech platforms selected by the Catapult programme to participate in its 2020 edition of Inclusion Africa.
The programme aims to assist organisations with a focus on financial inclusion to scale, bridging the gap existing between Europe and Africa.
Following a successful outing recorded in the 2018 edition, CATAPULT: Inclusion Africa developed LHoFT Foundation and targets companies that can drive the financial inclusion narrative in Africa.
The selected start-ups would have access to in-depth mentoring, coaching, peer-to-peer learning and specially designed workshops.
Catapult will offer sessions on team building, pitch development, funding and capital raising, investment readiness, and scaling strategy.
Here are the two selected startups from Nigeria:
Esusu
The start-up has brought about digitisation of thrift taking in Africa using a unified finance management platform to bring a solution to the traditional and manual savings scheme.
Built from real-life case studies and industry experts, Esusu Management System enhances financial inclusion for everyone.
With its multi-channel phase, it allows a simple and intuitive interface.
Esusu offers its users;

PaddyCover
The insurtech start-up offers its users an insurance scheme that they can control whereby payments can be made per day, weekly or monthly.
According to its website, PaddyCover offers affordable pricing in the insurance market.
Offering a flexible insurance scheme on cars as low as N150 per week and Health Insurance as low as N3500 per month.
The other African start-ups selected are;
A-trader and Dundiza(Tanzania), Cinetpay (Ivory Coast), Eversend (Uganda), Exuus (Rwanda), People’s Pension Trust (Ghana), Pezesha (Kenya), uKheshe (SouthAfrica) SympliFi (Uk-based)
The second edition would take place in Luxembourg between from March 1-8, 2020.
