Nigeria is a country that is rich in both human and natural resources. The country has been blessed with people who have various talents in different walks of life.

Ranging from business persons to artisans, the workforce has experienced tremendous growth over the years.

This growth can be credited to the presence of schools of technology institutes in Nigeria.

Technology institutes which are also called the School of technology, universities of technology, technical colleges, or polytechnics are all tertiary institutions that focus more on courses in engineering, technology, natural science, and applied sciences.

Making the top on our list is the Federal University of Technology, Akure a.k.a FUTA. It was established in the year 1981 by the Nigerian government.

One goal of the institution is to produce students that can marry the theoretical and practical sides of technology to produce results.

FUTA has been ranked by webometrics in 2015 as the best university of technology in Nigeria. They offer pre-degree science programs and also run short-term courses as well.

Federal University of Technology, Owerri

When it comes to engineering, one school that comes to mind is the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

The institution has a track record of producing competent graduates that are well-trained engineers. It was established in 1980 and it is located in Owerri, the capital of Imo state of Nigeria.

Currently, it is still the only federal university of technology in southeastern Nigeria. They are also well known for offering practicals in different engineering courses.

Federal University of Technology, Minna

Another technical institution of higher learning that is loved by Nigerians is The Federal University of Technology, Minna also known as FUTMINNA.

The Air Force Institute of Technology

This school also called AFIT or the Nigeria airforce university was a monotechnic, but is now a federal university that provides basic training on avionics, aeronautics, and aerospace engineering.

It was founded in 1977 but in 2018, they got approval from the NUC to run postgraduate and undergraduate courses. They have a blend of civilian and military staff and students. AFIT has just five faculties and they are:
