There are no restrictions to how and where one can learn, having said that, we can establish that movies are unconventional but viable sources where one can learn.

Movies are therefore not just frivolities as some seemly serious-minded people think. Movies aid storytelling by painting a vivid and solid picture of whatever it is depicting.

This is why it can elicit emotions from us, we can cry or laugh and even get angry when we see some movie genres.

There are stories about business, sports, education, love and so many topics that are obtainable in the world which leaves the viewer enlightened on the movie’s subject matter. Great lessons have been known to be learned from movies.

However, due to the context of this article, we’d be looking at movies that tech entrepreneurs can learn from.

Because of much thought put into selecting the movies, I daresay it is a must-watch for every tech entrepreneur.

Top five movies for Tech Entrepreneurs

Movies that made it to this list as earlier said were handpicked. Although they might not be trending like the people whose story is told, the movie has withstood the test of time and yet still timely, the lessons, valid.

Below are the top five movies;

The Founder (2016)

The movie teaches one that you can grow anything into an empire. It doesn’t have to be a drop-dead gorgeous idea.

The movie retells the story of Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald’s restaurant. Fighting through his challenges and failure, McDonald’s restaurant today is in history as one of the most successful franchises.

The movie is a big motivation to intending entrepreneurs and will greatly encourage them to greatness if they apply the lessons from the movie.

Steve Jobs (2013)

Another interesting movie for tech entrepreneurs, teaching on personal growth and how it reflects on your startup and how you can be innovative just about anything.

The movie was made to depict the life of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple. One of the strongest brands in the world today sheds light on how anyone can build their startup.

The Social Network (2010)

This is a beautiful, well-detailed, and perfectly executed movie depicting the life of Mark Zuckerberg and his journey towards building ‘the Social Network’, what we all know today as Facebook.

The movie shows how Mark, played by Jesse Eisenberg, walked his startup from the ideation phase to execution.

The movie went further to show the challenges, uncertainties surrounding a startup, and results persistence could yield for startup founders.

The social network has good plotting, an interesting storyline, and complimenting background scores. You should see it.

Startup.com (2001)

This movie is more like a documentary on Kaleil Isaza Turman and Tom Herman as they set up and struggle with their startup, govWorks.com.

Amazon

A startup that was meant to help the United States to manage municipal state activities. The movie shows the process of sourcing funds, the challenges, competition, and outright failure of the startup. Then, the lessons learned from every failure.

Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999)

I just had to add this to the list despite more recent movies because as a tech entrepreneur, you should see this. Yes, just like normal pirates sail uncharted territories amidst rivalry.

Pirates of Silicon Valley explores the rivalry between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, their brilliance and bravery towards technology despite the betrayal from trustees.

Now, these are the five top movies for Tech Entrepreneurs. I hope you have as much fun watching and learning as I had while collating the movie.
