The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is undoubtedly the biggest RPG this year. It not only scooped the ultimate game of the year award at the 33rd annual Golden Joystick Award ceremony, but also scooped several other awards as well.
The game offers over 50 sq. miles of open land and sea for your exploration with markers for treasures, bandit camps, power as well as multipart quests that you stumble upon. There’s a lot to do and find on The Witcher 3, yet the central story is always the main course.
You are Geralt of Rivia, a witcher looking for Ciri a young sorceress he raised. Witchers are specialized, through magic, rigorous training, and alchemical mutations, a band of terrifying inter-dimensional hunters who intend to use her for their own sinister needs.
The Witcher 3 is a follow-up to The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. It comes with greater freedom of exploration, more monsters to hunt and thrilling side quests to track. It improves from its predecessor in small but critical ways that allow one to get fully immersed in the fantasy. With more characters to interact with and jaw dropping sceneries, the player gets a deep sense of what being a true witcher entails.
The world in Witcher 3 is beautifully designed. Locations are distinct and memorable; there are also beautiful sunsets to complement the beautiful views all around. You will particularly love what the game designers did with Skellige.
Witcher 3 is also action-packed. In addition to the thousands of crafting options and an easy-to-manage inventory, you can root anything even a corpse! The story itself is intricate with side quests expertly interwoven with the primary story. As you progress, the game requires you to carry out more and more explorations which adds to Witcher 3’s intrigue. The quests themselves are brilliantly conceived to fold over each other into a series, where different choices have different consequences.
The characters are fascinating and even at the end of the game, you will still remember the names of almost everyone who you crossed paths with. The best of characters appear in the best parts of the game, and most are encountered once and never again. Bloody Baron’s story is one of the best in the game.
There are almost no mechanical issues with this game. The controls are responsive and Geralt lives up to the expectations of an accomplished swordsman. Playing the game will definitely set your blood boiling and at the same time thrill your brains out. Whether you are treasure-hunting or tracking down monsters and ghosts, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is ever vivid and alive.
