1969 is the year when Samsung, after the merger with Sanyo, started producing black and white TVs.

Li Gonhi offered a range of reforms, which was not only a complete restructuring of the company but also changing the very foundations of the management: the company was to meet the conditions of the law on free trade. Proposals to change policy towards foreign investors were to increase the attractiveness of the company for the subsidy because the conglomerate lost its financial support from the state.
