The guest on the Interview segment of Tech Trends on Channels Television this week was Dr. Adetunji Adegbesan, the Founder and CEO of Gidi Mobile Limited and the Creator of Gidimo, Africa’s first mobile learning and personal advancement platform. The topic of discussion was “Rescuing Nigeria’s Education Sector With Technology”.

Dr. Adetunji Adegbesan highlighted the various issues such as the number of children to cater for and the flooding of the country with unemployable graduates.

He also addressed the claims that indeed Technology could be causing failure in schools due to disruptions caused through the addiction to social media as well as how parents and teachers may be abdicating responsibilities of getting children educated and blaming technology.

Various challenges face E-learning in Nigeria and Dr. Adetunji discussed them and offered solutions that could see the players in the education sector leapfrog education standards using technology.

Dr. Adetunji also expressed his opinion about online learning and especially online Ph.D.’s. He, however, acknowledged that Digital online is Africa’s opportunity to catch up with the developed world.

On the App of the week segment, Evernote Skitch was analysed. CFA explained how this incredible tool works as  a photo editor and highlighter tool.

The Tech Clinic segment addressed how keyword research, SEO and link building work in enhancing the visibility of a website and bringing your webpage to Google’s first page.

The segment also looked at how to improve on the booting time of systems.
