Konga Travels is, a leading omni-channel travel agency in Africa, based in Lagos. Its Mission is to build the largest network of quality travelers with its online and offline platforms.

With the robust technology backbone, KongaPay, a Central Bank of Nigeria licensed mobile money company and digital logistic company, Kxpress, they seek to make travel process, more seamless and more affordable. From flight booking, to hotel booking and all other aspects.

I, recently, had a chat with Eric Nana, Business Manager, Konga Travels, on Tech Trends show, on Channels Television and he shared how the company is, leveraging technology, to remain in the forefront of ensuring seamless movement, for Nigerians.

CFA: Eric, you’re welcome to Tech Trends.

Eric: Thank you.

CFA: How do you think technology is affecting the travel industry today?

Eric: I would say technology has affected the travel industry, tremendously. There were times, when things in the industry, when we want to do certain operations, it takes us about, almost, twelve hours, but today, within the twinkle of an eye, maybe, in less than three minutes, what would have taken you about four hours, you’re done in with it.

We cannot over-emphasise that, technology has really helped, in the travel space.

CFA: Would you say the influence of technology in the industry, has largely, been positive?

Eric: It’s been positive. A very good one. We moved from having paper tickets, to today, now, where we have electronic tickets.

A very good illustration is, those days, when we had the paper ticket, you could not do online checking. You could not do your rescheduling. You couldn’t, even, travel, without having that paper, physically, but today, even, when you probably, forgot the itinerary, given to you at home, you can still travel. Go to the Airport with your Passport, you are still able to travel.

In terms of convenience and ease of doing things, I would say, it has helped us, positively.
