Tech Trends is a show that gets in touch with real tech issues in the modern world. On this week’s Gadget review segment, CFA took us into the world of gaming which has come a long way from the earlier days of Nintendo’s Super Mario to today’s highly sophisticated games and consoles. The show dissected the PlayStation 4, PS4, in and out. The unique features and improvements to Sony’s PS4 were analyzed and compared against major consoles like the Xbox.

No doubt that women are now becoming forces to be reckoned with in the local and international tech-space in spite of the challenges that come with it. This week’s guest on the interview segment, Nkem Begho, CEO of FutureSoftware Limited, is a classic example of how ladies can excel in the realm technology.

On the Interview segment of Tech Trends, Nkem talked about the challenges that women in technology go through. ranging from the way technology roles are presented to women, how and when technology is introduced to girls, and how many women second-guess themselves and wrongly think that they cannot  make it in the technology space.

She additionally offered practical solutions to these challenges by discussing how women can be encouraged to love and get into the tech industry. She also mentioned how the learning curve can be adjusted to make women feel that they too can make it and the significance of more role models to mentor girls and women.

Besides talking about the organizations and camps set up to empower girls and young women, she also highlighted how internship programs can be designed to encourage young girls and women to enter into technology.
