Stakeholders and policy makers in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry will converge today, at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, in preparation for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecom World 2016 which will hold in Bangkok, Thailand from November 14 – 17, 2016.
The forum will have in attendance stakeholders, network operators policy makers, Regulatory agencies, Network operators, Value Added Service Providers, equipment vendors, software specialists, Banks and financial institutions. This forum aims at providing the opportunity for dialogue on ITU programs and the annual ITU Telecom World 2016.
Themed “Collaboration in the digital economy”, the ITU Telecom World 2016 will feature top level CEO/Ministerial roundtables, and dialogue amongst governments, big and small & medium business leaders, etc.
According to Director, Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Tony Ojobo, Nigeria’s theme for ITU Telecom World is “Smart Communities: the key to a digital Nigeria.”
“Nigeria is expected to showcase its achievements and opportunities in its fast growing ICT Sector,” he said in a statement.
He explained that participants at ITU Telecom World 2016 would have the opportunity to showcase their services and get involved international participants across the world through key visibility platforms presented at the event.
However, the forum which holds today will have Vice President, Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Ibrahim Dikko and the acting Director General, Nigerian Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Vincent Olatunji among others to give their experiences at previous ITU Telecom World events.
