A smartphone is a cellular phone that performs many functions that a computer can perform. It normally has internet access capabilities, touch screen interface or touch key pads and an operating system capable of running downloaded applications. Smartphones come with capabilities that make them perform the basic functions of a phone and much more. Below, we look at the reasons why a smart phone is really smart.

The reason why a smart phone is smart is partly because it can provide basic functions of a normal cell phone. Texting and calling are the basic functions of any phone and this connects people within or outside a country and across continents of the world. These functions can enable you to communicate with your friends and relatives on a daily basis.

With a smartphone, you cannot feel bored. This is because it comes packed with rich gaming and entertainment features that set it apart from other types of cell phones in the market. With smartphones, you have access to thousands of computer games, movies and videos. Many application developers bring something new everyday for consumers to use.

A smartphone cannot be smart without internet and social media access. Actually, internet browsing and social media access are some of the biggest roles of smartphones. Many people buy them for the sole reason of having pocket size devices that can access internet. The best thing with these phones is that you can access internet from wherever you are. This can enable you to control your social media accounts, answer emails and conduct searches online.

Another important reason why a smartphone is smart is because it enables us to manage our time. The phones have a clock and this discards the need for you to put on a watch. In addition, they come with organizers, calendars and alarm applications that help people manage time.

With a smartphone, you no longer need a video camera. A smartphone enables you to take both still photos and videos while on the move. This is a very important function that really makes these phones smart.

What other things can your smartphone do to show that they are really smart? You can share here.
