We cannot effectively use our computers or smartphones without applications. In addition to the apps installed by the manufacturer, there are third party applications that users can download and install on their computers and mobile devices. Most applications work by connecting to the internet and, therefore, increase the probability of the devices contracting viruses and Trojans from the internet. As a result, it is important to have different security options for the apps whether on your phone, tablet or computer. There are many different ways of securing your apps so that they do not attract viruses and Trojans. Some of these are stated below:

Firewall

The first thing that you need to do is to ensure that your firewall is on. A firewall will protect your apps from outside interference as it is a network filter that only allows accepted connections to access a network. You can install a third party firewall that performs on per-application basis. To set up your firewall, go to network settings of any device that you are using. This will block all unauthorized devices from accessing applications and data that you have in the network.

Encryption

Data encryption is a security option that protects ones data and application from being accessed by other persons. This method requires data to be scrambled into pieces so that it cannot be read by the third party. In addition, encryption involves the use of a password that is necessary to decrypt your data. This method is very effective especially when dealing with sensitive data.

App-Specific-Passwords

Passwords are the most common form of security when it comes to applications. Many apps enables you to create and use App-Specific-password to access them on your device. This prevents unauthorized persons from accessing your data. This goes a long way in securing your applications. It is important to create hard-to-crack passwords that will make it difficult for people to predict. This will further enhance the security of your apps.

Using App Lock

Another method that you can use to secure your apps is by using the app lock to secure your apps. accessing the device once it goes to sleep. Locking is a viable method of securing your apps.

It is important for you to secure your apps to prevent intrusion.
