Tech Meets Land: Inside Enugu State’s Push for Digitized Property Administration

Last week, we were greeted with the news of mass failure in WAEC and I asked myself who is to blame? Is it really the students or the fact that parents and leaders have refused to change with the times? What indeed is the role of ICT in Education?

How can we expect that strategies that worked in the 70s and 80s would be effective today? Honestly, I think that there is no way it will be effective. We need to understand our children and students of today view the world of learning different because truly learning has indeed changed and its mostly kudos to technology. I must admit that there is a lot of distractions today and one would wonder, how anyone can learn anything with all the distractions associated with the use of modern technology?

My goal on Dateline Lagos will be to share some insights of what has been done elsewhere and how we can replicate all that. If you ask me, I’d say that with the current system that we have it is impossible to compete internationally. One fact which I must state is that the values our society respect today is helping to churn out more lazy minds which is another reason that might be responsible by the falling standard of education.

Join me on Dateline Lagos onRadio One 103.5 between 11am-12noon today, as I throw more insight on this and other burning issues around the role of ICT in education. You can listen live on the website or via the TuneIn Radio App.

This week’s ICT Radio Show on 99.3 Nigeria Info FM promises to be interesting as well as I’ll be discussing with 2 exception entrepreneurs on how ICT has improved their various businesses.
