Early-stage startups registered and operating in Africa, especially those building with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, edge computing, and connectivity systems.

Eligibility for Participation

This Qualcomm programme is designed for early-stage technology startups based in Africa that are building hardware-integrated solutions or software platforms built on advanced connectivity or computing technologies.

Startups without a minimum viable product yet are still encouraged to review eligibility details to assess fit.

Benefits of Participation

  • Equity-free participation: Selected ventures do not give up company ownership to take part in the programme.
  • Mentorship: Participants will receive regular one-on-one guidance from Qualcomm engineers and subject matter experts to improve product design, technical execution and business positioning.
  • Technical and Business Training: The curriculum includes expert-led masterclasses on topics such as AI and AI-Hub tools, Internet of Things, extended reality, 5G connectivity, advanced computing (AI-PC), product management, and intellectual property fundamentals. There is also access to the Qualcomm Academy for additional learning resources.
  • Stipends and Grants: Every startup that completes programme requirements is eligible for a USD 5,000 stipend, and one venture will be awarded an additional grant from the Qualcomm Wireless Reach Social Impact Fund.
  • Intellectual Property Support: Startups can receive reimbursement of up to USD 5,000 to file a utility patent in their home country, the U.S. or through the Patent Cooperation Treaty. The programme also offers consultation hours with a reputable IP law firm and free access to educational resources on patent procedures in various African countries.
  • Visibility and Industry Exposure: The cohort will take part in a virtual finale event in December 2026, where founders will have the opportunity to present to investors, ecosystem partners and industry stakeholders.
How to Apply

Interested founders should visit the official Qualcomm programme page and submit an online application before Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Prepare a detailed description of your technology, team, and product development status to support your entry.
