Below some often neglected but highly important Safety rules that you are supposed to adhere to when using any type of mobile device and I mean any type, including what we now know as wearables.
We start off with the first one; Before using your new device or whenever you have not used your device for a while, you should charge the battery.
No 2: Unplug your charger when not in use. The practice indeed for many people especially at home or office, is to use their device when still plugged for charging but it is not safe in the real sense.
No 3: It is not advisable to use your device while it is charging, if you must use it then unplug, and return to charge after you are done. Ok, I have seen some photos on the Internet that claim someone got burnt while trying to call with a phone connected to his charger, I am not exactly sure about those, but I know the practice of trying to call and charge is simply unsafe.
No 4: Avoid placing your battery in or around anything that produces heat like microwave ovens or gas cookers as this might lead to an explosion when the device is overheated.
No 5: My final point will come as 2-in-1 – I’d like to advice that you should not use your device outside during a thunder storm. Don’t ask me what will happen, but all I can say is that it can damage the device or even lead to electric shock. I’d close with this; do not use your phone in a gas station or filling station as we call it here. It is an extremely dangerous practice.
Despite the fact that the signs are always there, people always flout such instructions to their detriment and also that of the people present around them.
These basic phone safety rules will help you and those around you, so share!
