With over $100 million raised since its inception in 2012, Konga would be looking to challenge the likes of Gloo.ng and Supermart.ng to take over the potentially huge groceries market, following the launch of grocery delivery service in Lagos

The Nigeria’s largest online shopping mall launched its grocery delivery service, which offers its numerous customers in Nigeria and beyond the opportunity to conveniently shop online (KongaDaily) on both perishables and non-perishables

With Supermart.ng and Gloo.ng already taking the lead in the online grocery market, Konga will have to intensify efforts in every aspect of the business to keep afloat.

“Konga customers can shop fresh foods, household items, frozen foods, baby nutrition, cooking ingredients, cereals and porridge, drinks and beverages, and others. Deliveries are made within 24 hours to customers’ doorsteps in Lagos”, the e-commerce giant said.

Konga Daily has a “save list option” where customers they can keep shopped items to make subsequent shopping easy peasy – all they need do is check their “saved list” and check out, and delivery is done.

“Konga is a child that has grown and blossomed and the results of the past five years have been outstanding, Sim Shagaya Chairman, Konga said during the launch. Adding that, Konga is not the just regular online shops, but KongaDaily plans to bring a difference/new experience to Nigerians.”

He explained that groceries are the most difficult category to manage as it has to do with the day to day needs of shoppers.

“This means that buyers require them to be delivered quickly and in the best condition and for this to work, a robust delivery system must already be in place.

While Konga Daily is a logistically challenging project, we are committed to seeing excellent results achieved as our logistics network is one of the best in the country. We are excited to go on this journey with shoppers,” he stated

In the same vein, Shola Adekoya, CEO, Konga explained that the grocery category is an essential component of the daily needs of the average Nigerian and our re-entry into this category.

“Our logistics support is tremendous as we have built a logistics infrastructure that will support the delivery of any order placed on the KongaDaily platform within 24 hours. Our payment system – KongaPay also ensures that shoppers get discounts when they choose KongaPay as the payment option.”

On ease of use, he further added that: “Shoppers can even create a shopping list that they can update as they choose. This simplifies the customers’ shopping journeys as they can only check out all the products saved to their list at once without having to bother populating it again.

With KongaDaily, we are providing best product quality, comfort, convenience and super-fast delivery.
