Blockchain solution provider, Domineum held its Blockchain Developers Summit in Abuja on 21-22 July 2022.

The two-day event saw a massive gathering of blockchain experts, stakeholders, providers, developers and enthusiasts engage in impactful discussion and how the technology can impact Nigeria and Africa.

A major highlight of the summit was a startup pitch session, that saw founders working around blockchain and related technology pitched their products.

Aryan Rathore, Founder of Techbross, emerged winner of the startup pitch. Aryan, who will be thirteen this September is deploying the metaverse in providing the next level of gaming experience.

In a chat with Aryan, Blockbuild learnt how he started his technology journey led him to blockchain.

Aryan Rathore was born in Nigeria to Sudhir and Pragya Rathore. Sudhir is the Founder and CEO of Surjen, a health tech startup operating in Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja.

Aryan is twelve years old and in his seventh year at Funtaj International School, Abuja, he is the founder of Techbross, a platform for young passionate entrepreneurs who wish to create an impact in society with the use of the latest technologies in Gaming and Artificial Intelligence.

“We’re dedicated to providing the next level of gaming experience with immersive technologies.”, as stated on the Techbross website

The company was founded in 2020 when Aryan was ten. Aryan added that founding the company, back then, was for fun, stating how he created some random projects and left them halfway through.

He developed an interest in computing at age eight when he was handed his first laptop. Aryan then went on to develop a couple of games on Unreal Engine (UE4) and Unity.

His programming interest spans python and C++ while he tries his hands on blender and Cinema 4D as well to satisfy his creative appetite and make models for his games.

According to him, that was his initial cultural learning phase, however, he got hooked on the technology and started enjoying it.

As of today, he has invested four years into game development. In the second part of 2021, he decided to get serious about it. Aryan published his first game on the Android Play Store in October 2021, followed by a second game in February 2022.

He was introduced to blockchain technology by Domineum blockchain company in Abuja, through one of their conferences at Baze University in November 2020.

Aryan sees going to school as a social necessity, however, he stated he would like to complete his education as everybody else would do while embracing technology as his passion. According to Aryan, his interest in blockchain is driven by the revolution the technology is causing.

He believes that the African continent can benefit from the technology. “Most people, when it comes to blockchain, think of cryptocurrencies and getting rich quick options. However, with all this hype, there are crashes in the cryptocurrency markets.”

Stating further, Aryan admitted that, beyond the hype, blockchain technology can be deployed to bring fundamental positive changes in developing countries including eradicating hunger, reducing corruption, maintaining population, land records, monitoring societies, and the likes.

Combining school with his tech company has been somewhat challenging for Aryan since 2021, however, he continues to learn new things including building games. This, according to him offers him a sense of accomplishment and combining it with school, makes it a lot better.

Aryan asserts that the metaverse can change the gaming experience because this technology will be a combination of the blockchain and our previous gaming experience. According to him, the metaverse will get rid of most previous problems in the gaming industry by giving blockchain solutions to them, such as preventing the hacking of games.

Stating further, Aryan said that, the metaverse could also help to reduce the cost price of game development As explained by him, developers need to build a program that creates a database for every new player in games, but with the metaverse, you don’t require that since all your uploads will be on the blockchain.

Aryan also added that the metaverse will help in reducing the cost of game maintenance owing to its decentralized database.

With his company deploying artificial intelligence, Aryan believes that Africa is ready for the realities of AI, citing Egypt, Rwanda, and Mauritius, who have published their AI strategies, adding that Nigeria will follow suit.

Techbross is bringing gaming metaverse on the Ethereum blockchain so people can socialize, trade NF T’s, buy virtual land and play to earn.

This is not the first of its kind, however, I wanted something to come out of us, Africa. As such things happen around America or Europe. I think Africa can contribute its share and beyond in the digital innovation world.

On what fascinates him about Africa and Nigeria’s blockchain, Aryan said that with various upcoming technologies, such as AI, and machine learning Internet of Things, Nigeria is coming of the age in blockchain technology as well.

“The excitement of the blockchain community and startups in Nigeria are unmatched. I have interacted with various individuals and founders in the domain. And I’m convinced that Nigeria’s share in Africa’s blockchain technology will be the highest. Nigeria is a really massive community of blockchain developers and early adopters.”

Concluding, Aryan quipped that African youths are living in the best of times, the world has to offer.

“We don’t need to spend a lot of money to visit places to learn new things. You can do it from the comfort of your home, just by having a laptop and an internet connection. I did it and you can also do it. All it needs is hard work and dedication.”
