Games can be fun but also very addictive, so it is important for you to draw a balance, otherwise it might hurt you in the long run.

Let’s get started:

1. Be Informed

I like to start with this first tip, simply because that is probably the best way to prevent one from being addicted to any game, and that is through information. Assuming I am trying to advice a much younger person about the negative effect of gaming addictions, I would simply show them online stories of young people who have lost their lives due to this addiction.

2. Schedule your Game Playing Time

It might not be in your best interest to reach out for your phone and start playing your favourite game anytime you are bored, I would recommend that you choose a time or a day that is dedicated to gaming probably to relax or entertain yourself like you would do with movies. You don’t go watching movies everyday. In most cases you plan for it and that is the same way games should be treated if you ask me. Parents, I suggest you start early with your children, insisting that they should not go further after a while.

3. Find Alternatives

Rather than play games all the time, you could choose to read, exercise or go visiting. Parents should ensure their children engage more on academics and sports as an effective way of preventing addiction to games.

  1. If you must play games then you should draw a balance between fun and rewarding games because they are built with two different goals in mind.

Desist from the temptation of trying to reach the final of any game because that is where the addition starts from. If you ever eventually complete the game then you’d have devoted hundreds, if not thousands of hours to the game. I believe these tips will help prevent addiction to games.puyalluppost.com

Finally, nothing is wrong with games as long as you remain in the drivers seat and if you must play, go for Home developed games like Chopup – lets learn to support our own!
