Healthcare Startup Delivers Free Medical Package to Bariga Residents

Community members in Bariga, Lagos have benefited from the free medical screening and sensitization outreach by a team of medical professionals from 1Dokita Healthcare Limited. This is in line with its mission to make health services available to all Nigerians through a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
1Dokita Healthcare Limited is a startup that leverages technology to provide diagnostic and medical services to all Nigerians in different packages, irrespective of class and status.
Speaking at the health outreach in Bariga, Lagos; Dr. Pedro Najim, Founding Partner and Medical Director at 1Dokita Heathcare Limited said the mission is bigger, and beyond just providing Corporate Social Responsibilities to its business environment.

He said 1Dokita has the mission of providing the access to healthcare by offering different packaged healthcare services to those who are unable to access healthcare.
He said the people have been counseled, sensitized on the importance of having a good health. “We just want to raise awareness and this will go some extent towards achieving universal health coverage particularly for the un-insured who lack the finance to do that.
Earlier, Dr. Pedro hinted that there was a collaboration with the local government to make this the outreach happen in Bariga.
Meanwhile, Olawale Obisanya, the Sales and Maketing Manager, 1Dokita Healthcare Limited said the firm organizes two free medical care outreaches twice in a month within different locations in Lagos to make sure that everybody has access to good health care system.

“1Dokita is offering the members of the community free medical checks and counseling today. After which they would be referred to our different registries close to them for proper treatment. Of course we cannot bring all our equipment and facilities here to get them treated”
Olawale said patients are directed to the closest registry (hospitals) irrespective of their locations in as much they are resident in Lagos, promising that the firm is looking forward to extending its tentacles to other states in Nigeria.
He added that patients do not have to go through the conventional process of waiting to be treated because they are usually connected to the doctors on appointment basis via an App.
“1Dokita has been in existence from 2016 but started officially in October 2017. Today, it has over 1000 doctors listed on the platform, all that is required is to download the 1Dokita App and get access to the doctors,” Simileoluwa Bello, Project Manager at 1Dokita Healthcare Limited said.

She described having the 1Dokita Mobile App as having a variety of doctors and hospitals while navigating the App. The App has hospitals, diagnostic centers and all the medical practitioners listed, as well as different health services. “All the user need to do is to launch the App on their device and get in touch with a doctor or any hospital.
She added that the unique feature about the 1Dokita Mobile App is that the data of the user is secured, saved on the smartphone and only accessible by the user.
“1Dokita Mobile App offers users an easy, convenient way to access health services that is congruent to their daily lives. By plugging into our network now, they can continue to access health services and manage their healthcare when smartphones and 4G internet are more ubiquitous nationally.”
