The second edition of the Growth Stage Impact Ventures (GSIV) for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) programme was recently launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The programme aims at displaying impact-driven ventures in developing countries with the potential to boost both huge impacts and produce substantiate profit.

Along with Orange and SAP, École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the GSIV for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will see 12 entrepreneurs get an invitation to pitch their solutions and products at the SDG Finance Geneva Summit.

This is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2021 with support to access strategic partnership to scale their ventures.

The call for applications opens till Wednesday, July 15, 2020, and is seeking post-Series A impact ventures in providing services and products which will tend to provide solutions that would empower people at the lower rung of the ladder to gain access to clean and affordable energy, good health care and waste reduction.

Ventures with headquarters, the main workforce and product market in developing countries are the only ones eligible to participate in this programme.

Julia Binder, project leader of EPFL Tech4Impact, said, “We are delighted to support UNDP in its focus on impact ventures that address the SDGs. Contrary to the multitude of awards and competitions targeting early-stage startups, companies invited to GSIV have the potential to bring about rapid and positive change at scale, targeting in particular the bottom of the pyramid,”
