A couple of factors could actually be the reason while you are struggling to launch that webpage on your PC. It might be your connection, the website, the browser or something else. But the focus is on the type of browser you are using.
Let’s not forget that Google Chrome browser is one of the major browsers in the world. It is flexible and supports a lot of websites. Most platforms will specifically require you to use Chrome for anything you want to do on their website. And as such it has come to be a household name. It can be used on both our mobiles and desktops.
Like other popular browsers, the Chrome can start to slow down, dragging around, non responsive and thus frustrating us. Most times this is normal and at times it needs some attention. We would be looking at how to fix a slow chrome browser, or any browser you might be using.
Why your Chrome Browser Remains Slow
The Chrome browser doesnt just start acting up. There are a couple of readonshy it does that. It might be because of add-ons, non-responsive extensions, outdated browser version, caches etc.
Browsers by default save data and information about sites you visit. And most websites leave caches and cookies behind. It might just be this reason. Or all I mentioned that can cause your browser to be slow.
How to fix a slow Chrome browser:
These are the simple ways to fix your browser if it is slow and sluggish.
Refresh/Restart the browser
Most times a simple refreshing of your browser can do the magic. You can restart the browser from the task bar or simple close, refresh and launch it again.
Remove or Disable some Plugins, Add-ons, Extension
Most add-ons, plugins and extension are not useful and are unknown. Some are automatically installed by some websites.
If a particular websites requires you install a plugin or extension. Make sure you remove it when you are done. You might probably not be needing it again.
Here is how to remove unwanted add-ons and extensions.
Launch your browser (e.g. Chrome)
Select Settings
In the options, click Extensions or Plugin
Use the Remove option by the right of the particular extension.
Please note that some plugins are needed to experience maximum use of your browser.
Clear the cache, cookies, browser history
When using a chrome browser, all activities are saved. Especially when you are signed in. All things done using your browser will be saved to your account. Activities such as sites visited, password saved etc. This can cause your browser to be slow.
If you are using a mobile device, launch your chrome browser, select the three dots at the top right of the page. Select settings.
Scroll down to Privacy, click and open. In the options select clear browsing history. You can choose to select from which date to delete. This lightens your browser and fix it’s sluggishness.
If on a desktop. At the menu options above, click on history, then clear browsing history.
If the above didn’t fix your browser issue, then you might need to uninstall the browser and install a new one.
