Nigeria’s biggest free-to-air platform has announced that it will grant unrestricted access to all its channels until Saturday, May 30, 2020, following the Federal Government’s announcement of stay-at-home directive in some states to curb the spread of the Coronavirus in Nigeria.

FreeTV will be providing unrestricted viewing access to all new, existing and returning customers from April 4th to May 30th, 2020.

very FreeTV customer will get two extra months of access.

Previously inactive subscribers just need to switch their functional FreeTV boxes back on; however some boxes may need to be left switched on for a few days to enable an Over The Air upgrade before they can resume viewing with two months access, at no cost.

The CEO, Olumade Adesemowo stated that, “this was FreeTV’s way to support viewers during these unprecedented times by providing qualitative entertainment to customers while they follow the stay-at-home directives.

The free-to-air platform is also curbing the flow of fake news by providing qualitative on-screen information to viewers direct from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), The Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Information and the Nigeria Police with the FreeTV Information Services feature’.

We are doing our part and hope our customers are doing theirs – stay home, stay safe, stay entertained and stay informed with FreeTV. Adesemowo added.

The service is currently available in Abuja, Kaduna, Jos, Enugu, Ogbomoso and Ilorin and is in the process of being rolled out to other locations.

The free-to-air platform intends to be available to over 150 million individuals in over 20 million viewing homes across Nigeria.
