One area where technology has been employed to improve the quality of a product is in the automobile industry. We now have self-driven cars rolling out of the factory lines of Tesla, for instance.

Technology is changing fast and what one sees today as new innovation becomes obsolete tomorrow when another one surfaces to disrupt or displace it. Car manufacturers across the world are constantly upgrading their products with new technologies.

Some of these upgrades can be witnessed in the areas of safety, entertainment, functionality or simply for style. It is therefore pertinent to stress that many of the new technologies for upgrades on cars are either specifically built for safety or for convenience and leisure.

Many of these new technologies on cars are either meant for the use of the drivers exclusively or the passengers exclusively or for both. Car users may, however, carry out upgrades on their cars by installing them with tech components available in the market.

Below are five tech components that will help you to upgrade your car, maybe not exactly like the new models, but these will surely enhance your driving experience and sort of improve safety and convenience to a certain degree.

1. Satellite Navigation System Installation

You can fit your car with a satellite navigation system. This will assist you in navigating your way through areas that you are not familiar with. They come in various sizes and shapes, depending on the manufacturer.

Some satellite navigation system devices need to be updated to add new route options as well as map displays so that the device will work more efficiently and at a faster rate. You can also go for a satellite navigation system that will show you live traffic updates, speed camera locations, and known crash hot spots and hazard areas.

2. Mobile Phone Holder

Fatal accidents are known to result when the driver of a car starts to look for their phone when it rings while driving instead of concentrating on driving. There have been reported cases of accidents happening just because a driver bends down to look at his phone or tries to pick a fallen phone.

To prevent such accidents, a driver can install a mobile phone holder that will be placed on the dashboard of the car. This will, definitely, help in preventing accidents which can occur when the driver is distracted by looking around for their phone.
