The era of digital business is here, with promising benefits more significant than the traditional market. There is more exposure, measurable outcome from business effort, effective marketing at subsidized cost as part of its opportunities.
One of the most exciting part is that all the digital platforms available have put efforts to ensure that all business (either large business or small business), can come online with ease which is more like a plus for local businesses that might seem to be left out in traditional marketing.
Facebook SME Program is just a platform with the aim of helping business to thrive online using latest Facebook marketing tools and perhaps help SME to have easy access to funds. SME Council will help strengthen the business ecosystem of Africa as whole.
The update was announced by Facebook ‘s SMB Sales Manager, Abi William, speaking during the launch she said “small business form the backbone of most the thriving economies in the world, driving sustainable growth and creating jobs, and those in Nigeria are no different.
Facebook is strategically positioned to help SME’s grow their businesses, and with a vibrant SME sector, Nigeria was a natural choice in launching our very first SME Council on the Africa Continent. With 35 million people in other countries connected to a Nigerian Business on Facebook, the global market has never been closer for Nigeria SMEs”.
The program for Africa started in Nigeria with 15 small and medium-sized businesses in different sectors and from locations such as Lagos, Enugu, Abuja, and Kano. Aside Nigeria that joined from Africa, there are 10 countries that constitute the 10 SME Council already, like UK, North America, Ireland, Poland, France, Italy, Sweden, India and Brazil.
Being the most populous country in Africa, and also one of the fastest enabling hubs for local business, Nigeria will definitely experience exponential growth in business with the Facebook SME Council Program.
