Artificial Intelligence is a field of science and engineering that deals with making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programmes. It is related to the task of using computers to understand human intelligence, but AI does not have to confine itself to methods that are biologically observable.
This definition is credited to John McCarthy (September 4, 1927 – October 24, 2011), an American Computer and Cognitive scientist.
Today, AI has become an essential part of the tech industry and it is becoming more and more advanced as days go by. However, a note of warning has been issued by a group of scientists under the Future of Life Institute about the threats of AI to human existence.
This was done through an open letter to the world. If you are interested then you can just do a search and read more about it. That said; here are some specific areas that we expect to see AI influence more.
Games: These involve video games where Artificial Intelligence is used to generate intelligent behaviors often simulating human-like intelligence by characters in the video games. This is now common in many newly released games.
Expert systems: This is a computer-based system that can perform jobs that could otherwise be carried out only by a human expert. For instance, there are now expert systems that are used in hospitals for diagnosing human diseases such as cancer and various internal organ diseases, — Continue Reading
