Egyptian Food-tech Startup, Ordera Raises Six-figure Seed Funding

Ordera, an Egyptian food-tech startup has recently announced closing a six-figure seed round.

The Egyptian based startup is a mobile application that has focus on enabling pick-up and drive-thru experience in Egypt’s food and beverage industry.

Expressing his joy on receiving the seed funding, Karim Abdel Kader, CEO at Ordera commented:

“We are very excited about this significant milestone in the journey of Ordera.

The investment will help us increase both our customer and vendor bases, expand to other cities and add more features to our product to serve a wider segment of users”

According to a press statement, the food-tech startup stated that the seed funding was obtained from AUC Angels and Alexandria Angels in Egypt, and DAAL VC based in Saudi Arabia.

Abdulrahman Alqahtani, CEO at DAAL commented:

“Post COVID, F&B, and retail markets’ conditions changed dramatically.

Ordera was founded in 2019 by Karim Abdel Kader, Abeer Mostafa, and, Noha Bassiouny and is regarded as one of the top food-tech startups with a focus on pick-up experience in Egypt’s Food and Beverage industry.

Asides that, Ordera is also considered as the premier food ordering application having a built-in loyalty program in Egypt.

To date, Ordera has closed deals with over 150 venues and has gone ahead to sign up partnership deals with some leaders in the Food and Beverage industry.

Odera aims to get rid of the challenge of waiting and the possibilities of moving around with cash.

Ordera has seen remarkable growth in the number of food outlets that signed up with its partnership.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, Ordera has seen an increase in the number of users.

With the mobile application, users can order their choice before getting to their preferred outlet.

The service provided by Orders promotes social distancing and waiting unnecessarily on long queues.
