Mobile Apps are pretty much the in-thing today, everyday millions of apps are downloaded and thousands and possibly a few millions are also uploaded to various app stores. So for many of us, it does not matter whether we are using these apps effectively or not as long as we have them downloaded. Our focus this week is on the “Effective Use of Mobile Apps.”
According to Statista.com; In June 2014, Apple announced that 75 billion apps had been downloaded from its App Store. Can you imagine what that would look like in your mind/head? That is HUGE by any standard.
Tune in to the ICT Radio Show by 1.30 PM every Tuesday on 99.3 Nigeria Info FM
It does not end here. There is the latest trend of companies and SMEs joining the bandwagon of owning mobile apps of their own so that clients can easily reach them (or so they assume). Ok I agree that some businesses cannot do without an app, but some key questions on my mind are; does every business need an own app? How many of these apps were created by Nigerians? How many of these apps were downloaded by Nigerians? What is the importance of having 100 apps on your phone while only 10 or 15 are being used regularly? What ways can Nigerians begin to effectively use mobile apps?
These and many more questions will be tackled by our guest on the tomorrow’s edition of the ICT Radio Show.
