The web is full of everything good….. and unfortunately, everything bad! You, therefore, need to be conscious and alert at all times so you do not fall into any scam trap online. Although, you may not consider this a love scam, it is, however, meant to tangle you up in an online scam, based on using a beautiful lady as bait, courting you through offers for a loan of some sort. Check out the content of this unsolicited mail I received and judge for yourself!
“I am Elizabeth Davis. Do you need a loan to start up business? personal loan? Loan for your home improvement? Do you need Debt consolidation loan? Education loan? Car loan? We Offer Loans at a very affordable interest rate 2%. contact us via email ( [email protected] ) with Your Full Name, Amount Needed, Duration, Country, Mobile Number:.. Best Regards Elizabeth Davis”
The stated mail is quite inviting. Note that the sender has given you his/her Email contact and requesting for your name, country and Mobile number, so he/she can still get at you if the Account used in sending the scam mail is sanctioned.
A small business owner like me would certainly be interested in a loan offer, but of course, I know that it is a huge lie because, there are no free meals anywhere, not even in Freetown. In reality, whoever was behind this, tried to play the emotional game as the profile that sent the message to me had a pretty white lady who looked wealthy and confident. Of course, this is all in a bid to win me over emotionally and rip me off in the end.
The rule to stay safe from such online business scam would then be, “Be careful of responding to unsolicited mails, especially when they are laced with mouth-watering and unbelievable offers such as the example stated above!”
