There are many reasons why we may want to copy a portion or all contents of a webpage that we find interesting and will be of benefit to us in whatever we want to do.

Maybe you are a student and you were given an assignment. So you went online, did research and found a material online which will make your journey of researching end. But the twist there is that the material is protected. You cannot copy anything off from except to share using the share buttons.

Other people have mischievous reasons for copying contents from a webpage; reasons such as reproducing verbatim such content on their platforms.

There are many reasons why some pages are right-clicked or copy protected. This is mainly to avoid stealing and plagiarism of their contents. And the internet is filled with such people who just copy a whole content from a webpage to their own.

In this article, we will learn two ways on how to enable right click option on a right click disabled webpage and copy what portion you want to.

Please know we also frown at plagiarism and thus we are against using these ways to steal contents online.

These two methods work on Chrome browser and will encourage you to get one if you don’t have any.

1. Install the Chrome “JavaScript Switcher” Extension

The Chrome Quick JavaScript Switcher can be installed on the chrome web store. It enables us to copy contents from a copyrighted webpage. Follow these steps to use this option

  • Launch Chrome
  • Open Webstore from Apps option (left side of your browser)
  • In the search box, type “Quick JavaScript Switcher” and hit enter.
  • Add to Chrome
  • Click Add Extension when prompted.

2. Install Chrome “Allow Copy”

This works similarly to the JavaScript Switcher and same procedures in enabling the extension. “Allow Copy” allow us to copy from copy-protected pages on websites.

  • Launch Chrome browser and open a new tab
  • Open Webstore from Apps option (left side of your browser)
  • In the search box, type “Allow Copy” and hit enter.
  • Click on the green tab – Add to Chrome
  • Add Extension when prompted.

Now you should be able to copy that content from the copyrighted webpage. When doing your research, and can’t copy from a page, or when you right-click and pop up shows telling you that the option is disabled, on the website, click either the Allow Copy or Quick JavaScript Switcher chrome extensions whichever you are using. Once it is enabled, you can go ahead and copy.
