The showdown between smartphones is endless and it will not be stopping like in a hundred years. With every passing year, new and improved smartphones are being released and the competition is way too high. Every cell-phone brand periodically releases their flagship smartphones to compete with the other brands. In this smartphone competition, we take a look at two famous smartphones: The Blackberry Priv and the Microsoft 950 and make a comparison to assist the user’s to decide on which suits them:

Blabckberry Priv has been created with a retro slider keyboard back via the Priv. With the functions of the 5.1.1 Lollipop, the device becomes, even more, attractive along with its dual-curved-edge presentation. On the other hand, Microsoft Lumia 950 XL features the top-notch configurations and the advanced Windows 10 as the operating system.

Here you have the feature battle between the Blackberry Priv and the Microsoft 950 XL.

Display and Presentation:

Blackberry is famous for its unique features while the Window smartphone Microsoft 950 XL is not so far behind. Here are the Blackberry Priv display features you want to know about:

  • 5.4-inch screen
  • 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution
  • 541 ppi
  • Dual-curved-edge display
  • Sliding QWERTY keyboard
  • Metallic rim for flagship look

Whereas, the Microsoft 950 XL boasts of:

  • 5.7-inch screen
  • 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution
  • 515+ ppi
  • Polycarbonate/plastic design

Processor:

Moving towards the processor, we note the following:

  • Blackberry Priv: Snapdragon 808 SoC processor with 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage plus SD card support
  • Microsoft 950 XL: Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and SD card support

Battery and Camera:

Speaking of the Blackberry Priv we come across:

  • 18-megapixel rear camera with Schneider-Kreuznach sensor and OIS support
  • 2-megapixel front camera
  • Dual-LED flash
  • Li-ion 3,410 mAh removable unit
  • MicroUSB v2.0 (SlimPort 4K)

Now about the Microsoft 950 XL:

  • 20-megapixel rear camera
  • 5-megapixel selfie clicker
  • Triple LED flash
  • 3,350 mAh unit
  • Type-C USB port

Additional Pointer:

Blackberry Priv does not have any other additional features or what we can call special features, but Microsoft 950 XL surely has got these. Microsoft 950 XL comes with an all new iris scanner for authentication purposes. The fingerprint scanner is popular in other smartphones. Blackberry Priv,, unfortunately, has none of these.

Price:

Both of these smartphones are impressive in their own right. Blackberry Priv is slightly more expensive than the Microsoft 950 XL.

The Final Word

Now that you know the features of these two smartphones, it will be a bit easy for you to decide which one will be worth spending money on. The user rating provided to the Blackberry Priv is almost 6 or near while that for Microsoft 950 XL it is near 9. This happened because Microsoft has got a bigger size, is light in weight (plastic body), better display, Tricolor LED, 20mpg rear camera and 5-mpg front camera, greater processor, same storage as Blackberry, more battery timings and a lot more utility than the Blackberry Priv smartphone can provide. Talking about the price, Blackberry Priv is a bit expensive than the Microsoft 950 XL. You are, however, at liberty to choose which one suit you better.
