Apple released an official statement that, in order to support the #BlackLivesMatter cause, it will be giving and supporting black-owned suppliers, through a special fund of $100 million racial equity and justice initiative.

Not only will Apple be providing the support framework of a $100 million, but according to Tim Cook the Apple Chief Executive in a video posted to Twitter, said that Apple will further increase minority representation among the firms it does business with while, also, increasing black application developers and creating an enabling environment that foster diversity and inclusion, within Apple.

“The unfinished work of racial justice and equality call us all to account. Things must change and Apple’s committed to being a force for that change.

Today, I’m proud to announce Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative, with a $100 million commitment”, stated Tim.
